On January 6, 2023, the Quadra was again towed to SRF shipyard for a new series of work. This time the rudder, propeller shaft, propeller, bow thruster tube, box coolers for the engine and generators, exhausts and other openings/valves in the underwater hull were planned. In other words, many essential items that are barely visible once the ship is back in the water.
The propeller shaft has been lowered to prevent the propeller shaft from rising above the water in the valleys between the waves.
The new rudder is not yet complete; it is now about 2/3rds of the total length. Due to the limited depth of the current mooring, it is unfortunately not yet possible to attach the entire rudder. This will happen at the same time as the keel extension, which also will have to wait for the same reason.

What did cause a clear, permanently visible change are the portholes. The portholes give a completely different look to the ship. And it has become a lot brighter inside!
Just a few more tasks and then the ship can sail under power independently. Unfortunately, this has to wait until the end of the year, as André will sail on his other sailing ship Avatar for the entire 2023 season.
