Two-masted schooner Quadra
The classic sailing yacht Quadra is a two-masted schooner built to the design of Lelanta II by renowned American naval architect, John Alden. His yacht designs are known for their grace and elegance, as well as their stability. They can also be sailed with a small crew.
Her classic lines make Quadra a beautiful sailing vessel to behold. Like her original – John Alden – sister ships, she is fast, easy to sail and comfortable. She is of course equipped with every modern comfort and safety feature.
Her interior is spacious, light and atmospheric for a yacht, with plenty of oak detailing.
You are led below deck through the doghouse and its cosy seating area. Before arriving at the inviting saloon and open galley, you see the double cabins on either side. Quadra accommodates up to six guests and four crew. For our guests there are double cabins containing a double bed and ensuite facilities, or a double cabin with bunk beds and shared facilities along the passageway.
There are 3 double cabins:
- 2 cabins containing a double bed (convertible to bunk beds) and private shower/toilet
- 1 cabin with bunk beds and shower/toilet along the passageway
- each cabin features a wash basin, central heating and mechanical ventilation system
- each cabin is equipped with bedding, towels, soap, shower gel and shampoo
- in addition, there are 2 cabins for the crew

You will enjoy a unique sailing experience aboard Quadra in some of the world’s most beautiful sailing areas. You will soon feel at home on the sailing yacht thanks to the personal and informal service offered by André and Evelien, Quadra’s owners.
We are the fourth owners of this yacht, which was built at a German shipyard in the late nineteen eighties. Though already quite old, she was never completed and has never sailed. For that reason, very little about her history can be said.
Her first owner had her built to the plans for John Alden’s Lelanta II, but the work never progressed beyond construction of the hull. The second owner wanted her to be a motorsailer and shortened the hull. The keel was also significantly reduced. In 2012, the hull was sold to a Dutch owner. He intended to convert her back to a sailing yacht, but didn’t progress beyond altering the superstructure.
In 2020 we acquired the hull with a view to restoring it to the original classic sailing yacht envisioned by the Lelanta II plans. Construction began in the autumn of 2021 and will continue until the summer of 2025. We will begin offering sailing trips on Quadra in 2026.
